From the time he started making pasta with his Nona as a small child, Joe Laudisio was entranced with the delicious, fresh food made by his large Italian family in Buffalo, NY. Today, he brings his memories and his vision for authentic, regional Italian cuisine to this beautiful little restaurant tucked away in the foothills of North Carolina.
Joe & Mary strive to use fresh organic produce and pastured meats from local farms. They also watch over and help plan the prolific gardens right outside the restaurant doors. From ordering heirloom Italian seeds right from Italy, to guiding the menus that feature the seasonal bounty, much attention is paid to authenticity and to fresh quality. This is not just the new trend in green living, this is the authentic old world process of living and breathing local and seasonal foods that has permeated Italian life for generations.
